At Hair at 58 we are committed to delivering high quality, professional colour services using expert consultation and premium Aveda products. Hair colouring is a technical chemical process and outcomes depend on hair history, condition, and aftercare. The following policy is in place to ensure clarity and fairness for both our guests and our team.
Consultations & Agreement of Service
All colour services include a professional consultation where the desired result, limitations, maintenance, timing and estimated cost are discussed and agreed before work begins. By proceeding with the service, you confirm acceptance of the agreed plan.
In some cases we may require strand testing, or multiple appointments to safely achieve the goal.
Every client must have a patch test prior to any colouring services.
Colour Corrections
Colour correction services are complex and may require multiple sessions. Results are influenced by previous colour history, including home colour and work carried out at other salons. Exact inspiration images cannot be guaranteed due to differences in starting point and hair condition.
Hair health will always take priority over speed or level of lift.
Pricing
Corrective and complex colour services are charged based on time and product used, not standard colour pricing. Estimates are provided but final cost may vary if additional time or product is required to achieve a safe result.
50% Deposits are required for all colour and correction bookings.
Satisfaction & Adjustment Window
If you have any concerns about your colour result, you must contact the salon within 7 days of your appointment so we can assess and, where appropriate, offer an adjustment.
Adjustment appointments are offered when the result clearly differs from the agreed consultation plan.
We are unable to offer complimentary adjustments or refunds when:
• We are contacted more than 7 days after the appointment
• There has been a change of mind about the chosen shade or look
• Recommended aftercare has not been followed
• The hair has been altered at home or by another salon
• Environmental factors or lifestyle have affected the colour
• Excessive time has passed since the service
Refund Policy
As colour services involve time, technical skill, and product use, we do not offer refunds on completed colour services. Where appropriate and within the 7-day window, we will always aim to review and reasonably adjust the work.
Full Hair History Requirement
Clients must disclose all previous colour and chemical treatments, including box dyes, henna, metallic salts, smoothing treatments, and bleach history. Undisclosed history can affect results and safety and may void eligibility for service adjustments.
Aftercare Responsibility
Longevity and tone depend heavily on correct aftercare, product use, heat protection, and maintenance. Professional product recommendations are provided to support your result. We cannot guarantee colour longevity where aftercare advice is not followed.
At Hair at 58, we strive to provide the highest level of service to all our clients. To ensure optimal appointment availability and to respect the time of both our team and clients, we kindly ask for 48 hours’ notice should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments, will result in the loss of the 50% deposit paid upon booking. This policy enables us to maintain efficient scheduling and offer appointment slots to other clients.

In line with this commitment, we are pleased to announce the implementation of Vish, an advanced colour management system that enables us to accurately measure the exact amount of product used during your colour service.
This innovative system ensures fair and transparent pricing for all clients. Here’s how it works:
• For services that require the standard amount of colour, your pricing will remain unchanged.
• Should additional product be needed due to hair length, thickness, or porosity, we will now be able to precisely calculate the cost of the extra colour, and this will be reflected in your final bill.
We will always keep you informed if any additional product is required, so you can be confident in knowing exactly what your service entails and what to expect in terms of cost.
The introduction of Vish allows us to offer personalized and fair pricing while reducing product waste, aligning with our commitment to sustainability and delivering value to our clients.
At Hair at 58, we strive to provide every client with the highest standard of service and attention to detail. To help us achieve this, we kindly ask that you arrive on time for your scheduled appointment.
Arriving late can affect not only your service but also the appointments of other clients. If you arrive late, we may need to modify your service to fit within the remaining time, or, in some cases, we may need to reschedule your appointment altogether to ensure that all clients receive the attention and care they deserve.

At Hair at 58, we are committed to providing exceptional, personalized services to each of our clients. In some cases, extra time and effort may be required due to factors such as exceptionally thick or long hair, or additional work needed to achieve the desired result.
To ensure that we can provide the best outcome while respecting our schedule and other clients, we kindly inform you that appointments requiring extended time will incur additional charges. These charges reflect the extra time, product, and attention necessary to complete your service to the highest standard.
Our team will always communicate with you ahead of time if your service will require additional time and cost, ensuring full transparency.
To secure your appointment at Hair at 58, we require a 50% deposit at the time of booking. This deposit helps us manage our schedule effectively and ensures that we can dedicate the appropriate time and resources to your service.
Please note, the deposit is fully refundable if you provide 48 hours’ notice in the event of a cancellation or rescheduling. However, if you cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours’ notice, or if you fail to attend your appointment, the deposit will be forfeited.
To ensure that we can provide the best possible service during your appointment at Hair at 58, we kindly ask that you wear appropriate clothing. Specifically, we request that hooded jumpers and high roll-neck jumpers be avoided, as they can make it difficult for our team to work effectively.
Loose, comfortable clothing is ideal, allowing easy access to your hair without obstruction. This will help us deliver a smooth and efficient service while maintaining your comfort throughout the appointment.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us provide you with the best possible experience.
At Hair at 58, your safety and well-being are our top priorities. To ensure that all our clients receive colour services in the safest possible manner, we require an allergy patch test to be completed at least 48 hours prior to any colour treatment.
This test is mandatory for:
• New clients receiving colour services for the first time.
• Existing clients who have not had a colour service in the last 12 months.
The allergy patch test allows us to check for any potential sensitivities or reactions to the colour products we use. If you do not undergo this test within the required time frame, we will be unable to proceed with your colour appointment.
At Hair at 58, we take every precaution to protect your clothing during colour services. We provide:
- A full gown
- A protective plastic cape
- Fresh towels for each client
These layers are designed to ensure your clothes remain protected throughout your appointment.
However, while our team will always take the greatest care, we kindly remind clients that:
We cannot accept responsibility for any accidental marks or stains on clothing.
This includes instances where gowns or capes are moved, adjusted, or removed by the client (e.g. when using the restroom or adjusting for comfort).
For your peace of mind, we recommend to avoid wearing light or delicate fabrics (such as silk, linen, or wool) when attending a colour appointment.
Your comfort and experience are always our top priority and these guidelines are in place to help protect both you and your clothes during your visit.
