Hi I’m Sam, the very proud Owner and Artistic Director of Hair at 58. I’ve been in this amazing industry for the last twenty-three years and still feel as passionate and dedicated as the day my hair journey began. Opening my own salon in 2009 seemed the most natural move to make and I’ve never looked back – being able to create a team of exceptional talent and have them all under one roof makes me proud daily.
One of my proudest personal achievements was being asked to join the Aveda UK styling team which enabled me to work on shows with likes of Stella McCartney and also New York, London and Paris fashion week. I’m now into my 6th season and nothing can compare to the buzz of working back stage in such a high energy, creative environment with the most inspirational stylists within the industry.
Paul started his career as an apprentice at Vidal Sassoon in Bond St. This creative environment gave him a lifelong curiosity and passion for beautifully cut, natural hair.
At Sassoon he graduated to become an Educator at the prestigious London Academy.
Paul joined Aveda after meeting Antoinette Beenders the Artistic Director of Aveda and was offered the position of heading the in-salon training programme at the Covent Garden Institute.
As a Creative Director Paul worked with the Global Team on many education programmes, photographic collections and fashion shows including Stella McCartney. He continues his role as an Aveda artist at their London Academy.
His stellar guest list has included Erin O’Conner, Eva Green and Van Morrison!
Paul’s aesthetic is to provide a bespoke service of precision haircutting and luxury finishing using naturally derived organic products.
Paul is very excited to be starting a new chapter in Bristol, and is looking forward to meeting new guests and delivering a fantastic Aveda experience at Hair at 58.
I am originally from Barcelona, Spain. Having over 18 years’ experience working within the hair industry I have had the pleasure of working within some of the best regarded salons in Europe. This has seen me working in such cities as Madrid, Berlin ,Barcelona and Bristol and being actively involved in numerous international fashion shows and demonstrations with leading fashion stylists. My work also saw me venturing into television work for a major Spanish series and being a technical demonstrator and salon trainer in the proper use of major international products of which I represented. All of my experience offers me a unique perspective on style and an awareness of perfection within my work. My passion lies in my love of the creative process and being able to bring this joy into my client’s lives. I love my job and constantly push and thrive to further the art of hair.
Hi, my name is Abby, Welsh girl living in Bristol. I have been hairdressing for over 13 years ever since I left school. I moved straight into an apprenticeship and quickly progressed up to Artistic Director in an award winning salon in Wales. I spent 11 years in this role where I was involved in the British Hairdressing Awards and International Colour Competitions that took me to MGM grand in Las Vegas as a finalist. I’ve always been a very creative person and enjoy working with and meeting new people. I love exploring innovative new styles and fashions and have a wealth of experience in diverse, current colouring techniques, but my interests really lie in cutting. I really enjoy exploring, travelling and experiencing different foods and cultures. I particularly love Glastonbury festival, Ibiza and my cat 🙂
Jess trained under the eye of Aveda’s Global Creative Director, Antoinette Beenders. She worked in their flagship west end salon for over ten years as master Director.
She also assisted on many Aveda shows, worked on celebrities for award shows and became Bobbi Brown’s personal go to London stylist.
She then moved to Bali, Indonesia and worked as head stylist and trainer in a salon called HAIR.
My name is Amelia and I’m 19 years old. Before working at Hair at 58 I completed my Level three BTEC diploma in Travel and Tourism, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have now started a Business Administration Apprenticeship with Hair at 58. I have chosen this career path as I am hoping to learn how to help manage a business and widen my skills and knowledge. I am grateful I am able to carry this out with Hair at 58, as being Sam’s sister it seems a natural progression to be a part of the family business.
In my spare time I enjoy playing football, hanging out with friends and spending quality time with my pets.
My hairdressing career started over seven years ago where I leant my trade and trained in Devon. I decided to make my move to the city and thought Bristol would be a good place to start.
I was fortunate to land a position in a high-end Aveda Lifestyle salon in the city center, where I continue to polish my skills. After a lot of hard work and determination I soon worked my way up to the prestigious position of Art Director.
Two years later I made the decision to move to Hair at 58 so I could further myself more in an independent ran salon, where I have since spent a lot of time at the Aveda Institute in Covent Garden and completed numerous advanced colour courses learning bespoke techniques.
I feel I have developed a strong personal style in creative colouring, I would say this is my strength although I do also participate in some cutting as well!
Hair and Beauty has always been my passion since a young age. I am fully qualified as both a hairdresser and beautician. However I decided to concentrate on hair and have been hairdressing at an Aveda Salon and Spa, for the past three years as both a Stylist and Salon co-ordinator.
I joined the Hair at 58 team in April 2017 and am excited Sam has given me the opportunity to extend my learning and add to the skills I have already gained.
I enjoy all aspects of hairdressing from cutting through to bespoke colouring of women’s hair and love the finish that Aveda colour and products give.
As well as getting hands on with services, you will also find me on reception, greeting you with a warm smile and assisting with any appointment queries or Aveda product advice.
Tony’s passion for the hairdressing industry started at a young age and having hairdressers in the family was a big influence.
